Maintenance contracts & product warranty
It is a regulation of IGEM/UP/2 & the British Standard BS8487:2007 to ensure equipment is serviced and maintained correctly. At Secomak, we offer onsite servicing, commissioning, maintenance contracts and warranty extensions to ensure the equipment is maintained correctly.
Maintenance Contract

The CE mark indicates compliance with all current EU legislation and allows a product to be sold freely throughout Europe. It is the responsibility of the manufacturer to undertake a conformity assessment to ensure all products meet the required standard.

On-site commissioning
It is a regulation of IGEM/UP/2 that newly installed gas boosters are commissioned into service by a competent person. Secomak’s own team of highly skilled engineers have teamed up with “Advanced Control Solutions” (ACS) team of gas engineers and are perfectly positioned to provide on-site installation & commissioning nationwide.
ACS expert engineers hold the required ICAE/BPM1 qualification required for working on gas boosters and are experienced in servicing, commissioning, and installing these high-pressure pump systems. All engineers are Gas Safe qualified with the Gas Safe register giving you the peace of mind that you are in safe hands.

Gas Booster Servicing FAQs

Can the gas booster be installed outside?
Yes, it would need to be situated within a weatherproof enclosure though as the gas boosters should not be exposed directly to the elements.

Can we install the NRV vertically?
No. The non-return valve must be installed horizontally to allow the valve to work correctly.

Where should the NRV be installed?
The non-return valve would usually be found after the gas booster and outlet flexible.

Can the flexible connectors be installed after an elbow, or do they need to be connected to the booster?
You can connect them after an elbow, the closer to the booster the better if not directly connected.

Does a gas booster need to be commissioned?
The gas boosters are plug and play and it is possible to run them without commissioning. Secomak warranty however is only 12 months without commissioning, if commissioned through Secomak this is extended to 24months.

What is the warranty period?
The gas boosters come with 12 months warranty without commissioning, if commissioned through Secomak this is extended to 24months.

How often does a gas booster need to be serviced?
A gas booster should be serviced yearly with a belt change as a minimum. A bearing assembly would be due after 5 years.

Every 5 years

Can you install a gas booster in a meter room?
You cannot install a new gas booster within a meter room. This is in line with IGEM/UP/2

What is a control bypass?
This is a 1” pipe that is installed around the booster. This can help regulate the flow or pressure should it be inconsistent. This is usually used on our larger boosters.

Do I need a control bypass?
Every installation and performance requirement are different so not a yes no answer. The are more commonly required with larger gas boosters like our model 540/1. Best to consult your installed or contact Secomak.
